We give hope to families that they can be rescued and survive any "Social Service Tsunami."

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants"

The Voice of Our Children Inc is made up of a family of individuals who have seen different sides of social services and the law that supports this major issue. Some of us were respondent parents, counselors, law enforcement, friends and families of those effected and infected by actions and the inability to act.

We started in April 2004. While experiencing the travesty of a system and learning how Jefferson County Human Services "does business". We took this to various  directors and supervisors. We were ignored and looked at as people that didn't know what we were talking about. We met with Ms. Almond(director), Tim Carabello (program manager) Susan Franklin(Supervisor) Tim Young (case worker supervisor) and Cheryl Hyink.

They walked out of the meeting we had with them after 55 minutes and NEVER got back to us with remedies or solutions to what we saw. Programs and changes happened as result of what we brought to their attention.

This was birthed out of personal tragedy and turned to being a resource for other families.

When the family structure is exploited for personal recognition and a "job well done", then there is something wrong. I firmly believe that social services, the court system, and law enforcement are suppose to "serve" the family. This is the foundation of their alleged belief system.

We are "independent" monitors of  Social Services , we confront their ethics and behaviors.

We are working on arranging a march in each state where this problem is clear. We will bring National and International attention to the evils done in the name of the people.

Jefferson County Colorado and other child protective agencies have done enough to children and their families.

If the alleged problem does not exist, one should not be looked for or set up to happen. There are other families out there in desperate need to help.

We are the accountability that is needed.

We  have "domestic terrorists" in our own country. Under the Guises of "public" servants.

To those families that have asked God how this could happen. The answer is this has nothing to do with God. Evil exists. Ideals get twisted into good intentions. No matter the profession, you will find insecure people working these jobs. Any organization can end up being business-minded or driven by "success". Human services is not exempt from this.

If a family needs help, they still need to be respected. Evil respects no one. Living on earth we will go through trials. God has said "He will never never leave us and never never forsake us." "Never" twice signifies the assurance. We may feel alone but are not. It takes time to get to that point. You must understand your position and not be led by your feelings. We must let these feelings work their course. They are valid. This God of love is here as we go through things.

People "reap what they have sown" or "what goes around comes around." Evil may have it's day, but evil has it's end. They do these evil things because they can. Remember that in the end of their life, these evils things will be accounted for. On that day there is no Judge hopping. Find solace and contentment in this. We have.

Hamilton County Ohio did this to help its parents:

Press Release

Commissioners reform child abuse investigations to protect innocent parents

December 15, 2004Cincinnati, OHThis morning, the Hamilton County Commissioners agreed to reform county child abuse investigation procedures after receiving a report from a task force that reviewed the issue.  This action is intended to protect innocent parents from false accusations.

“The panel recommends that the county report anyone to the Prosecutor if evidence suggests the person is guilty of repeatedly making false reports of child abuse,” said Commissioner Phil Heimlich.  “Further, state law should be changed to call off an investigation where the report of abuse is not supported by any solid evidence.”

Heimlich formed the task force after hearing from a Sharonville couple, Mike and Grace Thomas, who were accused of child abuse after what were thought to be bruises were found on their child.  The “bruises” were later found to be birthmarks.

The task force was asked to determine if greater safeguards need to be put in place to protect innocent parents caught up in the system.  The panel found that even one anonymous phone call triggers a lengthy investigation required by state law, often lasting up to 30 days.  This investigation can include lengthy interviews with family members and friends, and possibly the removal of the child or parent from the home.  Approximately 6,200 complaints are referred for investigation each year.  Of these, over 54% are found to be unsubstantiated.

“Our first duty is to protect the child,” said Heimlich.  “But I am also concerned about the 3,000 or so parents caught up in the system who did nothing wrong.”

Panel member John O’Shea, a local attorney who has defended parents accused of child abuse has been named to an Ohio Supreme Court sub-committee formed to recommend changes in state laws that govern child abuse investigations. O’Shea stated, “In our efforts to protect kids, we can’t destroy innocent people’s families and reputations with unwarranted investigations.  I look forward to taking these recommendations to Columbus to make needed changes in state law.”

Hamilton County Department of Job & Family Services Director Suzanne Burke participated on the panel and agreed with the recommendations.   (Well of course, though she had ample time to correct this. It sounds to me like another director covering her peoples mess)
