"The most dangerous entity on earth is a government that has the ability to do whatever it wants whenever it wants without control." DL
Jefferson County Department of Human services in Colorado, aka Jeffco or Jcdhs.
We have been asked numerous times "Do you think that county ever thought it would come to all of is?"
We answered "No this was suppose to be business as usual." You know family as usual, father and mother as usual.
We became their treatment plan and parenting class.
Many changes have come so we commend the county for making them. These changes are:
1. Cultural Awareness 2. Some treatment plans are individualized. 3. Religious beliefs

A Letter to the editor about Jefferson County Colorado in their local paper.
Editor:
No doubt what your editorial asserts is to a degree
accurate. However, as with the characterization of the Platte River,
it's a mile wide and an inch deep. Your editorial brings to mind a
picture of abused or neglected children being rescued by the county,
placed in a foster home, adopted and, with big smiles, skipping hand in
hand off to church. However, beneath that lovely surface there is
actually a far worse scenario that needs to be exposed.
Until you
write about counties refusing family members the chance to care
for loved ones so a county worker(added Cheryl Hyink) can score by putting a child into a
foster home, county preference to adopt out a child rather than place
her with loving grandparents, denial of rights to access Citizen Review
Panels, forged paperwork and unresponsive county commissioners, you
haven't done the whole job. The foster and adoption system in Colorado
may work wonderfully at times, but beneath that serene surface there is
something awful and sordid. Why not present the whole picture?
“I
will not allow Jefferson County Department of Human Services in
Colorado or any agency to continually define the word “family” to mean
powerless and lost. This often is the definition to those who are swept
away into policy, procedure and common unethical practices” -Mr. Sharles Johnson
